During my legal career of over 40 years, I have focused on family law and other complex civil litigation matters. I have served by Court appointment as a mediator, arbitrator, facilitator, receiver and special master. For the past twenty years I have achieved an “AV Preeminent” rating, the highest peer rating by Martindale Hubbell, a nationally recognized directory of attorneys, for my legal ability and ethical standards. I have appeared in state and federal courts throughout Michigan and have argued in the Michigan Court of Appeals and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. My professional memberships include the American Bar Association, State Bar of Michigan, Oakland County Bar Association, and Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association. I am a trained professional in collaborative divorce practice and able to explain different options for divorce. I am a member of the Collaborative Practice Institute of Michigan. I am an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association. I am a past chairman of the Oakland County Bar Association’s Circuit Court Committee, member of the City of Birmingham Board of Ethics, and District Deputy for the Michigan Knights of Columbus, among other volunteer positions. I have served on the Board of Directors of the YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit and have been past chair of both the Board of Managers of the Birmingham YMCA and the City of Birmingham Advisory Parking Committee. I was frequently recognized in the dBusiness Magazine as a Top Lawyer in Metropolitan Detroit in the practice area of family law. I was the recipient of the Federal Bar Foundation Edward Rakow Scholarship Award at the Detroit College of Law, where I was the Editor-in-Chief of the Detroit College of Law Review. I also served as Law Clerk to the Honorable Harold H. Bobier, Judge of the U.S. District Court in Bankruptcy for the Eastern District of Michigan.
