I am a personal injury trial lawyer with the experience, skills and demeanor to win your case. Born in the same Memphis, TN hospital where Elvis died, I am the oldest of three boys born to a Presbyterian minister and a high school English teacher. I have lived the majority of my life in Louisville, Kentucky, graduating from Male High School, the University of Kentucky, and the University Of Louisville School Of Law. My legal training began before I started law school when I clerked for two years for a mid-sized, general practice law firm in downtown Louisville. I saw first-hand how difficult it was for a firm to try to do a little bit of everything, from drafting contracts and wills to handling divorce and custody to tackling personal injury and criminal defense. It also taught me how important it is for the attorneys and staff in an office to have a mutual respect for and cooperate with each other. While still in law school, I was hired as a law clerk for a prestigious firm that specialized in handling only personal injury cases. Upon graduating law school at U of L in 2000, I was hired as an associate attorney at the firm and had the great benefit of learning at the feet of some of the greatest and most successful trial lawyers in the state. Because I knew Louisville was the city where I would hang my legal shingle, and had a desire to work both sides of the Ohio River, I took the Kentucky and Indiana bar examinations back to back in the summer of 2000. I was helping a senior partner try a complex medical malpractice case in Ashland, Kentucky in October 2000 when I found out I passed the Indiana bar examination, and I was sworn in to be a lawyer in Kentucky just weeks before assisting in a medical malpractice trial in Butler County, Ohio that same year. I was given great responsibility and almost free range as an associate attorney. I successfully tried my first case to a jury just a year out of law school, and I won a six-figure wrongful death trial
