Mrs. Michelle Hockers graduated magna cum laude from Marquette University Law School earning her Juris Doctorate with a certificate in litigation in May of 2015. While in law school, she was heavily involved in the Moot Court Association where she participated in the Jenkins Honors Moot Court Competition, served on the Executive Board as Associate Justice for National Competitions, and competed in the National Moot Court Competition regional at Marquette. As a third year student, Michelle completed an internship with the Wisconsin State Public Defenderâs Office in the Milwaukee County Trial Division where she gained valuable courtroom experience. Throughout law school, she was a St. Thomas More Scholar and received five CALI Excellence for the Future Awards for earning the top grade in her Appellate Writing and Advocacy, Civil Pretrial Practice, Mediation Advocacy, Negotiation Workshop, and Comparative Criminal Law and Procedure in Spanish courses. Michelle also volunteered at the Marquette Volunteer Legal Clinic and became a member of the Pro Bono Society after completing over 50-hours of pro bono work in the Milwaukee community. Prior to beginning law school, Michelle was a Pre-Law Scholar at Marquette University where she earned her Bachelorâs Degree in Spanish Language and Literature in July of 2013 magna cum laude. Outside the practice of law, Michelle is involved with the West Bend Community and Alumni Scholarship Foundation which raises money for scholarships for West Bend High School Students. She is also involved as a part of the UPAF Next Gen group raising awareness of the performing arts in the Milwaukee area.
