Eric Barnes

Attorney Eric B. Barnes obtained his Bachelor’s in Political Science in 1992, and his legal degree in 1995 from Brigham Young University. Mr. Barnes devotes his practice solely to estate planning and elder law, with special expertise in asset protection from the cost of long-term care and incapacity. Mr. Barnes was the 2010-2011 (and first full-term) Chair of the Elder Law Section of the Utah Bar. He is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), and is one of only three attorneys in Utah certified as an elder law attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation (Nelf.org). Mr. Barnes was the 2012-2103 President of the Weber/Davis County Estate Planning Council, and serves on the board of Cottages of Hope, a local charity that seeks to help people out of poverty in Ogden, Utah. Mr. Barnes is also a member of ElderCounsel, a national organization of attorneys who share resources and expertise to provide top quality estate and long-term care planning solutions to their clients.
