W. West Allen is a partner with the nationally-recognized law firm of Lewis and Roca LLP where he currently serves on the firm’s governing Policy Committee. As part of the firm’s Intellectual Property and Technology Group, Mr. Allen has extensive experience litigating and resolving intellectual property disputes concerning trademarks, patents, copyrights, trade dress, trade secrets, unfair competition, as well as other business, Constitutional and related federal claims. Mr. Allen co-founded the Nevada State Bar’s Intellectual Property Section and was subsequently elected that Section’s first Chair in 2004. In 2005, Mr. Allen was appointed by the Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court, District of Nevada, to serve on the Court’s Civil Rules Subcommittee of the Standing Committee on the Local Rules of Practice. Following his term as the Nevada Chapter President of the Federal Bar Association, Mr. Allen was elected a national officer of the Federal Bar Association in 2007, serving as Vice President for the Ninth Circuit. He currently is serving his second term as FBA Ninth Circuit Vice President and has been appointed to the Federal Bar Association’s national Government Relations Committee. Mr. Allen has been an adjunct professor of Internet law at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. He currently serves as a foundation board member for “Nevada’s Favorite Charity” Opportunity Village. He also is an advisory board member of Alliance for Youth Service and an Assistant District Commissioner for the Boy Scouts of America. Mr. Allen received his J.D. from The John Marshall Law School, Chicago, 1995 and his B.S., Finance, from Brigham Young University, 1991. He was a law clerk for the Honorable Robert J. Johnston, U.S. District Court, District of Nevada, 1995-1996.
