Teresa Fariss McClain

Teresa grew up in northern Wisconsin on the south shore of Lake Superior, and returns whenever possible to visit family and friends. After graduation from Ondossagon High School, she attended nursing school and practiced as a registered nurse first as a labor and delivery nurse certified in high risk obstetrics, then as an adult critical care nurse in surgical intensive care. Her interest in advocacy for her patients led to a career in law. Teresa devotes her law practice to representing individuals who have been harmed by serious medical errors and medical negligence. She brings a unique blend of legal and medical experience to provide effective representation for her clients. Teresa is committed to helping her clients achieve justice. In addition to her trial practice, Teresa is a qualified civil neutral under Rule 114 of the Minnesota General Rules of Practice. During law school Teresa served as an extern for the Honorable Paul A. Magnuson, (then) Chief, U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota, and clerked for the U.S. Attorney, District of Minnesota. Following graduation from law school, Teresa served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Donald P. Lay, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. After clerking with the Eighth Circuit, Teresa helped to found the law firm of Hallberg & McClain, PA, a St. Paul personal injury law firm. She has been named a Rising Star by Super Lawyers, an honor bestowed to only 2.5% of Minnesota lawyers. She represents clients in Minnesota, North Dakota, and Wisconsin.
