Jerome P. Prather
Kentucky, 5th Circuit, 6th Circuit, 11th Circuit, U.S. District Court Eastern District of Kentucky, U.S. District Court Western District of Kentucky
Coming from a long line of small-town attorneys, Jay has always devoted his practice to representing clients who have been badly hurt or killed, or suffered other injuries at the hands of others. Jay has experience in both jury trials and appellate practice, in various practice areas including medical malpractice, birth injuries, trucking accidents, and defective products. His philosophy is that every case should be fully prepared for trial, with the hope of achieving a satisfactory settlement for his clients short of the courtroom while always being prepared to take his clients’ cases to a jury. Jay is rated AV-Preeminent® by the Martindale-Hubbell* peer review. He is a governor and district vice president of the Kentucky Justice Association, and has been selected as a member of the American Inns of Court. He has been named to the Kentucky “Superlawyers” list for four years running and was named a “Superlawyers Rising Star†for many years before that. Jay is an adjunct professor of law at the University of Kentucky David J. Rosenberg College of Law, where he teaches a course in medical liability. He also serves the profession by writing for professional publications and presenting continuing education seminars to other attorneys, in Kentucky and nationally.
