James Gulseth

James H. (Jim) Gulseth was born and attended high school in Devils Lake, North Dakota and graduated with an A.B. degree from the University of California at Berkeley. Jim earned his JD degree at the University of California Hastings School of Law in San Francisco and is admitted to practice in the State of California and before the Federal District Court, Northern District of California, and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit. He is a member of the Corporations, Business Transactions, Securities and Tax and Intellectual Property Sections of the State Bar of California. Jim’s reported cases include PACKER TRANSPORTATION CO v. USA, 596 F.2d 891; PLATTS v. SACRAMENTO NORTHERN RAILWAY, 253 Cal. Rptr. 269, 205 Cal. App. 3d 1025. Jim has assisted hundreds of business start ups, including many significant start-ups such as Pleasanton’s Phosistor Technologies, Inc., that raised over $15 million in Series A and B offerings. Jim is a member of the State Bar of California, the Alameda County Bar Association, and a member and past President of the Eastern Alameda County Bar Association. Jim is a member and a past President of the Rotary Club of Pleasanton and the Rotary Club of Pleasanton Foundation. He is also a founder and past member of the Board of the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce Community Foundation, a founder, past officer and past member of the Advisory Committee for Pleasanton Partnerships in Education, a member of the advisory board of Dublin Partnerships in Education, a member of the Board of the Museum on Main, a founding officer and director of Pleasanton Heat, a track and field and running club, and a member of the Berkeley Yacht Club.
