Karla Baker Thompson practices in the areas of commercial litigation and transactions, healthcare and disability insurance litigation. Her focus includes business and insurance contracts, real estate development, commercial leases, business and medical practice acquisitions, medical operations, lender liability, business torts, distressed asset litigation, employment, fraud, anti-solicitation and unfair competition, corporate governance, and insurance bad faith. Ms. Thompson was among the 2.5 percent of lawyers in Arizona selected to the 2014 Southwest Super Lawyers Rising Stars list. Ms. Thompson is the co-author of numerous articles about the legal challenges facing doctors, dentists, and other healthcare professionals. Her work has been published in various local and regional healthcare publications. While attending William & Mary Law School, Ms. Thompson was a Graduate Research Fellow, a member of the William and Mary Law Review, and a member of the Moot Court Team where she was distinguished as Bushrod Tournament Finalist in 2009. She was also the Special Projects Administrator for the Attorneys Information Exchange Group and a regulatory compliance coordinator for the College of William & Mary Foundation. Ms. Thompson received her B.S. in Business Administration, magna cum laude, from Birmingham-Southern College, where she attended as a National Merit Scholar. Ms. Thompson is admitted to practice in the State of Arizona, as well as the United States District Court for the District of Arizona.
