Matthew G. Garmon
Matthew G. Garmon is an associate in the Birmingham office of Morris, Haynes, Wheeles, Knowles, & Nelson, and is a native of Cullman County, Alabama. Matt graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, and received his Juris Doctor from Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law. While in law school, Matt was a member of Cumberland’s prestigious Hebert Peterson National Trial Team and was a recipient of the 2015 Nat Bryan American Board of Trial Advocacy Award. During this time, Matt competed as an advocate on various teams, including a Cumberland team that won the 15th Annual Michigan State University National Trial Competition Championship. In addition to his experience in trial advocacy, Matt worked as a law clerk throughout law school and gained practical experience managing various facets of both civil and criminal cases. He also served in Cumberland’s legal research and writing program as an Abraham Caruthers Teaching Fellow, was Vice President of Cumberland’s Cordell Hull Speakers Forum, and was a member of the Executive Board of the Phi Alpha Delta Legal Fraternity. He received the honor of Dean’s List throughout all semesters of law school. Matt is admitted to practice in the states of Alabama and Florida and focuses primarily on civil litigation, representing individuals who have been wronged in various types of cases, including products liability, wrongful death, premises liability, automobile negligence, and other personal injury actions.
