While in college at the University of Delaware, Marta was drawn towards issues of social justice in society after working as a research assistant in a social psychology laboratory that focused on understanding intergroup bias and racism. She knew studying law would be the next logical step. Following graduation, Marta interned at the Delaware Department of Justice in the Family Unit, where she gained valuable experience in the criminal justice system and advocating for victims’ rights. While in law school, Marta worked for Murray Richman, Esquire, a well-known criminal defense attorney in New York City. This position gave Marta experience in the New York State courts and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York. Following law school, Marta worked for the Delaware State Courts, educating defendants about the criminal justice system. She values face-to-face interaction and helping individuals solve problems. While she was earning her Legum Magister at Delaware Law School, she worked for JP Morgan Chase & Co., conducting legal research and reviewing clients’ legal documents.
