Tom Starrs
residential resale, Certified Probate Real Estate Specialist
I’ve been a realtor since 2006. I worked as a real estate auctioneer for the first several years of my real estate career. I taught a Real Estate Auction class at Hogan School of Real Estate in Tucson for 13 years. In addition to selling residential resale, for several years I also worked a small niche in the commercial market: 18-hole golf courses! I’m not a golfer, but I know a lot about the golf industry and how golf courses are run as a business.
My first real estate probate sale was in 2008. The seller contacted me by email to do a real estate auction. She was the executor for her brother’s estate. We exchanged about a dozen emails regarding probate court and the sale. Unusual was that she shied away from having any telephone contact whatsoever. When it came time for me to tour the property for the first time, I met her on site and learned that she was deaf! She asked me if I knew how to text. I didn’t but was willing to learn. Before that day, I had never texted anyone on my cell phone. Right then and there she sent me a text which appeared immediately on my phone. And that was the day I learned how to text!
