A. Michelle West
Virginia
Ms. West has tried over 100 personal injury cases in General District Courts and Circuit Courts throughout northern Virginia. Before opening her own firm, Ms. West worked as a trial attorney for State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance. She tried an average of 35 cases to verdict or judgment per year and hundreds more that ultimately resolved without trial, all related to personal injury. Ms. Westâs work for State Farm gives her tremendous insight into how insurance companies operate and how best to achieve maximum recovery for injured claimants. While studying at George Mason University School of Law, Ms. West worked for area judges including the Honorable Gaylord L. Finch, Jr., of the Fairfax County Circuit Court and the Honorable Gerald I. Fisher of the District of Columbia Superior Court on the Criminal Docket. Ms. West also tried, via her Third Year Practice Certificate, criminal cases for the Arlington County Public Defender and a private Fairfax firm that included charges of carnal knowledge; sexual assault; driving on suspended license; driving on revoked license; possession of a firearm by a felon; and a multitude of probation violation hearings. Both by advocating before the court and serving behind the bench, Ms. West has first-hand knowledge of the policies and procedures of all Northern Virginia courts, and she puts that experience to work for her clients.
