Mr. Swartz possesses a military and legal background that leaves little wonder as to his choice of practice areas. From 1971 until 1988, Attorney Swartz served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve, on active duty from 1974 through 1978, ultimately achieving the rank of Major. While on active duty, he served at Headquarters United States Marine Corps (HQMC) and was assigned to the Office of the Judge Advocate General (JAG) of the Navy in Washington, DC. In this capacity he served in the Torts and Claims Branch defending the United States in medical malpractice, aviation, and general negligence claims and litigation.
